Perhaps it is the concept that people have of God and their fear of the word God because of it which makes so many have adverse reactions to the word. If it were seen as something everywhere present, including in us as us, it would not be seen as a crutch, nor something outside of ourselves we are depending on. It would rather be, acknowledging our own content and connection to all of life everywhere.
