Enchanting Autumn incantations of sublime seasonal change
By
“Autumn, the year’s last, loveliest smile.” William Cullen Bryant
Welcome back to Enlightenyourday.com
I have had the social media flu lately and unplugged from the Blogosphere for awhile. During my vacation, some dark force in the cybersphere stole the keys to my online portals and subsequently attempted to burn the house down. Fortunately, I had a backup plan on hard disk, and a hosting provider Blue Host that believes in exceptional customer service.
So E.Y.D has changed with the fall season to a new look and feel for the moment. I hope you will enjoy part three in my photo blog series: Enchanting Autumn incantations of sublime seasonal change. Every photo links to its original source on Flickr and Vi.sualize.us. Your thoughts and musings are always welcome here on E.Y.D. Any nostalgic thoughts or feelings to share about the arrival of Autumn?
“To be interested in the changing seasons is a happier state of mind than to be hopelessly in love with spring.” George Santayana
“Seasons change, friends move away, and life goes on from day to day. Flowers fade and streams go dry and many times we wonder why. Yet we can always be assured because God tells us in His Word, that unlike changes in the weather, love goes on and las” Unknown
“You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of.” Jim Rohn
Autumn days are here again!
In autumn when the trees are brown
The little leaves come tumbling down
They do not make the slightest sound
But lie so quietly on the ground
Until the wind comes puffing by
And blows them off towards the sky.
The winds will blow their own freshness into you,
and the storms their energy,
while cares will drop away from you
like the leaves of Autumn.
and the storms their energy,
while cares will drop away from you
like the leaves of Autumn.
Pretty Leaves
Pretty leaves are falling down,
Green, orange, yellow and brown.
Here comes one colored red,
It landed on my head.
Pretty leaves are falling down,
Green, orange, yellow and brown.
Here comes one colored red,
It landed on my head.
Pumpkins in the cornfields
Gold among the brown
Leaves of rust and scarlet
Trembling slowly down
Birds that travel southward
Lovely time to play
Nothing is as pleasant
As an autumn day! Fall poem by John Muir

“And you would accept the seasons of your heart just as you have always accepted that seasons pass over your fields and you would watch with serenity through the winters of your grief.” Kahlil Gibran
“Love is the only flower that grows and blossoms Without the aid of the seasons.” Kahlil Gibran
“For him in vain the envious seasons roll, Who bears eternal summer in his soul.” Oliver Wendell Holmes
“No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace
as I have seen in one autumnal face”

Nature is beautiful and these pictures captured it so well. Thank you for sharing them. I like the changes you made to the site as well.
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by….
It's great that you are back
The photos that you have featured on this post are simply breathtaking! Wish I can take photos like these!
Me too…
I can’t believe the nice little poem is by John Donne, who was a complex metaphysical poet of around 1600 .Someone should check their references on this one.
Thanks for the heads up on that one Max.
The two bottom lines are from: Elegy IX: The Autumnalby John Donne
“No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace
As I have seen in one autumnal face.”
As for the rest of the poem, I can’t really say for sure. I found the poem on this site http://www.spritzels.com/poems/autumn.html
The structure makes it look like it’s his poem, but they might have just added his quote at the bottom of it. Looking at the rest of his work and the given poem. I would say your right. I will edit it shortly
Thanks
Jonathan
